No new cards? (999)

You may be wondering why newer magic sets are not fully represented here.
After 25 years of trying to collect a copy of every publicly available magic card, I have decided to slow down. From now on, I will dedicate the majority of my collecting activity to sets published on or before 2018-08-05 (exactly 25 years after the release of Limited Edition Alpha). At some point in the recent past, I came to the conclusion that I couldn't keep up anymore. WOTC was publishing way too many sets/cards per year:

I was falling futher and further behind in my cataloging. Plus, it was getting more and more expensive (cough! cough! Zendikar cough! Expeditions cough!). I won't stop collecting newer cards completely, but I won't feel like I'm forced to complete sets that don't interest me.
